Renekton Abilities and Combos

Abilities & combosData-drivenEasyPatch 16.19.1

This guide is assembled by the site from match data and the game's own information — nobody wrote it by hand. Official and community guides appear alongside it when they exist.

Overview

This guide goes through Renekton's kit ability by ability. The kit brings crowd control (stun) with Ruthless Predator, mobility with Slice and Dice and sustain with Cull the Meek. Its ultimate is Dominus.

Strengths

  • High physical damage: Riot rates it 8/10 in attack.
  • Crowd control: Ruthless Predator applies a stun to set up kills.
  • Mobility: Slice and Dice lets you reposition, engage or escape.

Weaknesses

  • Isolated lane: vulnerable to ganks when you push.
  • Predictable if you always play it the same way: adapt your build to the enemy team.

When to use it

The default path: Black Cleaver, Trinity Force and Spear of Shojin give the health, attack damage and on-hit effects this class relies on. Pick it when you have no reason to adapt. Built from Riot's item tags and the champion's class; Riot publishes no build statistics.

Where it's played

Strategy

1The kit

The kit brings crowd control (stun) with Ruthless Predator, mobility with Slice and Dice and sustain with Cull the Meek.

  • Reign of Anger — Passive. It works on its own: play around it.
  • [Q] Cull the Meek — Basic ability — heals. Time it for the enemy's burst, not for chip damage.
  • [W] Ruthless Predator — Basic ability — applies a stun and shields. Save it for priority targets or to interrupt a channel.
  • [E] Slice and Dice — Basic ability — moves you. Keep it to escape unless the kill is certain.
  • [R] Dominus — Ultimate. Plan your fights around its cooldown.

2Skill order

Put a point in Dominus at levels 6, 11 and 16. Between the basic abilities, max first the one that does most for your lane — usually your main damage or wave clear — and keep the utility one for last.

3Combos

A simple sequence that follows from the kit: open with Ruthless Predator, follow with Cull the Meek and Slice and Dice and finish with Dominus. The disable first means everything after it lands.

4Using your ultimate

Dominus is the ability the enemy plays around. Use it where it changes the fight, and remember its cooldown: after using it, you're a smaller threat for a while.

Tips

  • Slice and Dice excels at harassing maneuvers. Slice in, follow up with another skill and then Dice back out to safety.
  • Cull the Meek drains an enormous amount of life when used in the middle of the fray. You can use this to bait opponents into thinking you are weaker than you really are.
  • Cooldown reduction is especially good for Renekton, allowing him to both quickly build up and use his Fury.
  • Land Ruthless Predator first: every ability after it is easier to hit.
  • Keep Slice and Dice out of your combo unless the kill is certain.
