More Mei guides
This guide is assembled by the site from match data and the game's own information — nobody wrote it by hand. Official and community guides appear alongside it when they exist.
Overview
This guide goes through Mei's kit ability by ability. The kit brings crowd control (stun) with Blizzard and sustain with Cryo-Freeze. At level 10 you choose between the heroics Avalanche and Ice Wall.
Strengths
- Strong gank potential around the map.
- Crowd control: Blizzard applies a stun.
- Sustain from Cryo-Freeze.
Weaknesses
- Mana-hungry: Blizzard flags its energy as important, so manage it early.
- Low damage by itself: it needs its team to finish kills.

There are no skill points in Heroes of the Storm: all basic abilities are available from level 1 and grow with your level. What changes is the talents — see the talents guide.
3Combos
A simple sequence that follows from the kit: open with Blizzard, follow with Snow Blind and Icing. The disable first means everything after it lands.
4Heroics
At level 10 you choose between Avalanche and Ice Wall. Pick after seeing the enemy team: each solves a different problem.
- Avalanche — Heroic — applies a stun. Save it for priority targets or to interrupt a channel.
- Ice Wall — Heroic — slows. Plan your fights around its cooldown.
Tips
- Land Blizzard first: every ability after it is easier to hit.
- Use Cryo-Freeze reactively, when the enemy commits.
- Practise the combo in a practice game before using it in ranked.
- Count the enemy's key cooldowns: the best moment to use yours is right after they use theirs.
