Overview
Mid is the shortest lane: trades are fast and the enemy jungler is always close. Push the wave when you can, so you are first to the river when a skirmish starts. Early, prioritise the river: being first to a skirmish or to the first dragon is worth more than a few extra minions.
Strengths
- Long attack range (550) for safe trades in lane.
- High magic damage: Riot rates it 8/10 in magic.
- Crowd control: Falling Star / The Skies Descend applies a stun to set up kills.
Weaknesses
- Mana-hungry early: spamming abilities leaves you empty before the fight.
- Fragile: Riot rates it 3/10 in defense.
- No dash or blink in the kit: vulnerable to ganks without vision.

Abilities
Cosmic CreatorPassiveAurelion Sol's damaging Abilities break down enemies into stacks of Stardust , which permanently improves each of his abilities.
QBreath of Light3s30/35/40/45/50 mpAurelion Sol channels his dragon breath for a few seconds, damaging the first enemy hit and splashing reduced damage onto nearby enemies. Strategy
1Starting and early items
The first items decide how comfortable the lane is. The lane build below lists them with what each one gives you.
- Key early items: Blighting Jewel and Fiendish Codex.
2Trading
Trade when the enemy uses an ability on the wave: that's the moment they can't answer. The kit brings crowd control (stun) with Falling Star / The Skies Descend.
3Wave management
Freeze the wave near your tower when you're weaker, slow push before a back and crash the wave when you want to roam or take a plate.
4Early objectives
Early, prioritise the river: being first to a skirmish or to the first dragon is worth more than a few extra minions. Your spikes are level 6, when Falling Star / The Skies Descend comes online, and each completed item: Cryptbloom first, then Archangel's Staff.
Tips
- Trade when the enemy uses an ability on the wave: that's the moment they can't answer.
- Blighting Jewel is your first purchase that changes the lane: get it early.
- Use Falling Star / The Skies Descend in lane only when your partner or jungler can follow.
- Early, prioritise the river: being first to a skirmish or to the first dragon is worth more than a few extra minions.
Matchups
Strong against
Aurelion Sol attacks from 550 units and Akali from 125: every trade in lane happens at a distance they cannot answer.

Aurelion Sol attacks from 550 units and Locke from 125: every trade in lane happens at a distance they cannot answer.
Weak against
Call of the Void silences Aurelion Sol, whose damage comes from abilities.
Portal Jump lets Zoe reach Aurelion Sol, who has no escape in the kit.
Destiny lets Twisted Fate reach Aurelion Sol, who has no escape in the kit.
