Overview
Auriel is a ranged Healer in Heroes of the Storm. In this guide you play it as Healer: your job is to keep your team alive, avoid the enemy dive and add utility. The kit brings crowd control (stun) with Detainment Strike and sustain with Ray of Heaven. At level 10 you choose between the heroics Resurrect and Crystal Aegis.

DBestow HopeTrait1.5sPassive: 60% of the damage Auriel deals to Heroes and 20% dealt to non-Heroes is stored as energy. Bestow an allied Hero with Hope. While they remain near Auriel, 30% of their damage to Heroes and 10% of their damage to non-Heroes is converted to energy. Auriel can only have Bestow Hope on 1 ally at a time. Auriel can store up to 475 (+4% per level) energy.
Strategy
1Early game
Early, soak experience in a lane, stay close to your team and don't waste mana healing chip damage. Let your laning partner trade and heal after, not during: a healer that runs out of mana early loses the objective.

2Mid game
At level 10, Resurrect and Crystal Aegis change what your team can do: pick the one that answers the enemy's plan.
- Heroics: Resurrect and Crystal Aegis.
3Late game
Late, you're the enemy's first target: stay behind your frontline and never walk into fog alone.
- Level 20: Diamond Resolve.
4Team fights
Heal the teammate under pressure, not the one with the lowest bar, and keep Ray of Heaven for burst moments.
Tips
- Keep Ray of Heaven for the enemy's burst, not for small damage.
- Choose between Resurrect and Crystal Aegis after seeing the enemy team.
- Arrive at map objectives and mercenary camps before they start: the team that is there first chooses the fight.
- Before each fight, check which key abilities the enemy has available.
